Home to one of the country's busiest fishing ports, Port Fairy does not disappoint. Immerse yourself in the coastal town's bustling centre (the boutique stores and quaint cafes are not to be missed!) and discover its surrounding regions of natural beauty.
The Port Fairy Mystery Picnic is brought to you in proud collaboration with Great Ocean Road Tourism.
Have fun solving personally curated clues and riddles that’ll take you on a journey to collect your special gourmet picnic food bit by bit. Each clue you solve will lead you closer to your next picnic food pickup and even closer to your final destination. Once you’ve enjoyed your picnic, check into your wonderful accommodation which is fully arranged and paid for. We’ll help you discover your beautiful location through local attraction suggestions and recommendations. Dinner can be arranged or see what catches your eye once you arrive. It’s the perfect romantic getaway, filled with lots of mystery, riddles, laughter and amazing time together.

How long does the experience go for?
Each Mystery Weekend runs over two days, with one night of accommodation included for two people.
How much notice is required for my booking?
Please book at least three weeks in advance to give you the best chance of accommodation availability.
Is accommodation included in the price?
Yes! The price includes your clues and riddles, a delicious picnic spread, and one night of accommodation for two people.
When will I get my clues?
We’ll email your clues the day before your experience. Inside, you’ll find everything you need, including puzzles, games, and hints to lead you through the weekend.
Can you accommodate dietary requirements?
Absolutely! We can cater for most dietary needs at no extra cost, including gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options. You can also let us know about any allergies when booking. We do our best to accommodate pregnancy requests and recommend pescatarians book as vegetarians.
Please note, some dietary options may not be available on all routes. This will be clearly shown when booking.
What kind of food will we pick up on our journey?
We won’t give away too much here - it’s part of the mystery after all! But you can safely expect gourmet foods from local artisan producers, including traditional picnic favourites such as cheese, meats, fruits, and crackers. Naturally, as artisan producers are unique to each destination, the final picnic content varies slightly between them.
What if I need to change my date or something else about my experience?
We know things change, so we offer a world-class Customer Changes Policy so you can book with confidence. Mystery Weekends require at least three weeks’ notice for any changes to your booking.
What is your wet weather policy?
Most of our picnic experiences offer indoor or undercover options so you can enjoy your time regardless of the weather. Please note that any booking changes for Mystery Weekends must be made at least three weeks before your scheduled date. For more details, refer to our Customer Changes Policy.
Is parking included?
Parking costs are not included in the price of the experience.
Is transport included?
Transport throughout the experience is not included.
Do I need to know the area well to solve the clues?
No local knowledge is required to solve the clues on the day. Whether you know the region well or it’s your first visit, the experience is designed to guide you to discover new things along the way.
